Scope. This policy explains how TeleFore, LLC (“TeleFore,” “we”) handles information in connection with this website and the Silent Sentinel program. For institutions that engage Silent Sentinel, the handling of student and institutional data is governed by the executed service agreement and Data Privacy Agreement (DPA), which control over this policy in the event of any conflict.
We collect only what we need for the purpose at hand:
This website is a static informational site. It does not require you to create an account, and browsing it does not ask you for personal information.
We use the information described above to:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use student information for advertising or to train machine-learning models.
Silent Sentinel is an analyst-led service delivered under the direction and control of the institution that engages us. Institutions retain ownership of their student and institutional information; we act as a service provider on their behalf.
For K-12 engagements, each district designates TeleFore as a “school official” with a legitimate educational interest under FERPA, and we execute a Data Privacy Agreement aligned with New York Education Law §2-d and Part 121. We handle student data with the safeguards described in Section 5 and only for the authorized, district-initiated purposes set out in the agreement.
For postsecondary engagements, we operate within FERPA as applied to eligible students and coordinate with institutions on their Clery Act and Title IX obligations, as described in the service agreement and DPA.
In all cases, flagged content is reviewed by a trained human analyst before any finding is delivered — never resolved by automated action alone — and our threat criteria are designed to exclude constitutionally protected speech.
This website is directed to school and campus administrators, not to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Any student information processed as part of the service is handled under the authority of the engaging institution and in accordance with FERPA, COPPA (where applicable), and other applicable law.
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we handle, including:
We retain website inquiries only as long as needed to respond and for our reasonable business records. Case records and investigative documentation are retained for the term of the applicable agreement and in accordance with applicable records-retention requirements. Upon termination of an engagement, institution data is returned, permanently destroyed, or transitioned per the institution's written instruction within 30 days, with written certification of destruction available on request.
Information is hosted on U.S.-based, encrypted infrastructure. We use a limited set of service providers (subprocessors) to operate the program; a current list of subprocessors and data-storage locations is provided to engaging institutions as part of the DPA and updated upon any change.
If you contacted us and would like to access, correct, or delete the information you provided, email us at info@thesilentsentinel.com. Requests concerning student records held as part of a service engagement are exercised through the relevant institution, which controls that data; we will support the institution in responding.
This website does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising or analytics trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any notice or controls required by law.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
Questions about this policy or our privacy practices can be directed to TeleFore, LLC at info@thesilentsentinel.com.
